Luana K. Mitten graduated from Southern College in Tennessee with a BS in Elementary Education and received her MA in Reading Education from the University of South Florida. Luana has written twelve non-fiction children's books and served as a literary consultant for the Readers for Writer's series published by Rourke Classroom Resources. She is also the co-author of Models for Teaching Writing-Craft Target Skills (Maupin House, 2005). Her collaboration with Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer,
